Luxury handmade invitations like no other

As mentioned in my previous post detailing my experience with making my own wedding invitations, I wanted to help make wedding invitations affordable yet still look luxurious for those who may have a budget to keep to.

If you have a printer, access to cardstock, and don’t mind being a bit hands-on, printing invitations yourself is usually the most cost-efficient. You get things done when you want it and how you want it. You get pretty much full control.

However, it seems that while some couples don’t mind DIY-ing or purchasing printable invitations, many couples still prefer to purchase the physical printed invitations; and I totally understand. What with the trouble of getting them printed yourselves and how they’ll turn out, or having to worry whether the printing shop (especially online) will do a decent job, can all be a nightmare of stress! I totally get it because I’ve been there myself too.. And being someone with a bit of an OCD for quality and aesthetics, it doesn’t help.

So, I recently decided to offer printed invitation suites after receiving multiple requests on my shop. There, I hope to provide the resources to making ordering invitations easy and straightforward, and also reasonably priced. Offering both printable and printed invitation designs, you can choose between buying the printable design files and proceed to print on your own, or you can opt for me to do it on your behalf.

Printable or printed? Is it difficult to print my own invitations?

Truth be told, no it isn’t difficult to print your own invitations. But it is for sure time-consuming and tedious, especially if you need say, 50 or more invitations.

I personally DIY-ed about 300 invitations for my own wedding (a complicated mix of cards as well…) , and if it wasn’t for the fact that I actually loved designing and was proud of my work, I would have paid for it to be done through a cheap online printing shop. I believe it took me a month or so in total from creative design process to printing the physical cards. And if you are a newbie to the world of printing, there may be some trial and error involved in printing and figuring out suitable cardstock.

At that point, I also didn’t have access to cut cardstock, so I was literally cutting up invitation cardstock on my own BY HAND. Which is pretty nuts on hindsight. Probably would have been a lot easier with already-cut cardstock, but still, putting 300 pieces of paper through a printer is no joke.

It truly is a lot of work, but it really paid off with how beautiful they turned out. And I am indeed proud of myself for sticking with it.

As such, if you have the tenacity and some enjoyment for doing crafts, printable invitations will work out for you. If you have a printer, what you need to do is get some nice cardstock and print my designs on them. Cut-cardstock is also pretty accessible to those living in the US, which makes the process much simpler. I myself didn’t have access to cut-cardstock at that time, so it was a lot more work for me.

Alternatively if you don’t have a printer, you can get them printed through a printer shop near you or one of the more reputable online ones.

The amount of work printing requires is also why I initially wanted to stick to helping other couples by providing just the printable designs.

It cuts out all the labour for you, so you don’t have to worry about searching for a reliable printer and sit around wondering whether the printer will do a good job.

DETAILS

My invitations and cards measure approximately 4×6” (postcard size), while RSVPs are available in a postcard option or the typical 3.5×5” insert. My 4-page program booklets are handmade in a folded A4 size and bound with velvet ribbon, with additional pages possible upon request. Menus are available in 3.5×8.25” straight edge, or 3.5×8” deckle edge.

The prices include free standard shipping! You can mix and match whatever items you’d like, whether you want just a basic invitation and envelope set, or the full invitation suite. There are no restrictions except a minimum quantity of 30 pieces each, in order for me to offer free shipping.

Papers are premium textured and incredible Japanese-made quality. And because I run this as a small-scale handmade and design business, I have only limited quantities of some of these luxury cardstock that I source directly from Japan. So if you see something you like, I highly encourage you to get a sample from me and allow me to reserve the paper supplies for you once you may like to confirm your order.

SAMPLES

Before making a full bulk order, I recommend purchasing a sample set for simply the peace of mind. You can choose between a sample set in your desired combination (if you know what you’d like), or a sample set of the complete invitation suite. The complete suite sample set will include everything from invitation to program booklet, and can be ordered in your desired cardstock, or in all varied cardstock available.

As I aim for clients to be 100% happy with my work, I encourage you to get hold of a sample set so you can most accurately choose your cardstock and envelopes. The complete sample set that comes with all cardstock options costs just SGD28 (~USD20 | GBP16) including shipping.

FAQs

“I am on a tight budget for my wedding invitations, how can I keep them affordable?”

My most basic ‘invitation + envelope’ set costs around US$2.60-3.30 each. This is the best invitation set to get if you need just the minimal invitation, no fancy inserts. You can always indicate on the invitation to have your guests RSVP via your wedding website, email or mobile.

Otherwise, you can add the additional save-the-date, details, RSVP, or thank-you card as you wish and as your budget allows. If you have a specific budget in mind, you can also let me know and I will work within your desired budget.

“How long does it take to order wedding invitations?

As long as I am in my studio, processing time usually takes 4-6 weeks for full bulk orders. I offer free standard shipping that takes usually 2-3 weeks for international delivery.

So to be safe, I usually recommend providing a lead time of 2 months from when you need your invitations in your hands.

However, if you have a tight deadline to meet, do contact me and I will help rush your order. Courier delivery can also be opted as a paid upgrade or is complimentary if your order value is above SGD$500 (~USD368 /GBP295).

“Can I customise my wedding invitations?

The prices in the pricing guide above apply to all my ready-designed invitation suite themes in my shop. With my original design intact, all text can be personalised at no extra charge.

If you’d like minor changes to the design itself, there is a small fee of SG$7 – 15 (~USD5 – 11 | GBP4 – 9).

If you’d like a bespoke design from scratch, the design fee depends on what exactly you’d like. Please write me and I’ll be able to quote you accurately.
